Since I started a day late, today will be my last entry for the Ultimate Blog Challenge I told you about in the beginning of August. Just a few things I’ve learned along the way…
- Quantity is good, but I feel more comfortable with quality. I don’t know if it was just that this month was cluttered, but I didn’t plan as well as I should have and some of the posts were pretty low quality in my mind.
- When I did plan, I felt comfortable and relaxed with my writing and topic. Planning I think is key and I will be focusing on that from here on out.
- There are so many topics to choice from, finding the topics that interest me and ultimately you, my readers is what is starting to get difficult. Sometimes I feel that I bitch a little too much on here!
I’m glad I did this, because I feel that I learned a lot from the process. Things I have planned for this blog over the next month…
- Three quality posts per week, planned out in advance, written and edited prior to publishing!
- I think I am going to maintain my Weekly Successes and Weekly Confessions, just put them in one post instead of two. You know, my whole ying-yang thing. This will be in addition to the above bullet.
I know not many bloggers share their plans for their blogs, but I did want to let you know how I did with the Ultimate Blog Challenge in August and what I wanted to do with that new knowledge.

You did great Tina and you are absolutely right about quality over quantity, there is no way I could keep coming up with meaningful posts if I posted every single day. For me, this challenge was fantastic for just getting me into the habit of daily writing. I'm so glad that I did it :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know... I think daily writing is good, too. Sometimes more, if I can. It's probably wrong on my part, but I think my readers like having something to read daily. Since I started the daily postings my RSS numbers shot up. Plus, I like the challenge of the daily post. It's a nice break from writing the book.
ReplyDeleteBut I like your blog! You have a great sense of humor!
@Julia - Thank you for letting me know about the challenge!
ReplyDelete@Spuds - Thanks, sometimes you either get my humor or you don't (I even hold back a tad here!)
I also liked the daily writing habit, but I have so many things I want to write and not all of them belong on this blog. I've gotten into the habit of freewriting before bed which has done a world of good!
